AIR FORCE PERSONNEL EMERGE AS OVERALL BEST IN BANDMASTER COURSE
Warrant Officer Class II (WOII) Buabeng Benedict Kofi of the Air Force Base Takoradi has emerged as the Overall Best Student in the Bandmaster category at a joint graduation ceremony for Bandsman Course Two and Bandmaster Course One, held on Wednesday, 3 December 2025.

His recognition crowns an impressive performance marked by exceptional musicianship, leadership, discipline, and professional commitment throughout the six-month intensive training programme. The course brought together 160 personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, comprising 18 from the Ghana Air Force, 77 from the Army, 6 from the Navy, as well as 4 allied students from Liberia, underscoring the competitive and multi-service nature of the training.

WOII Buabeng’s achievement reflects not only his personal dedication but also the growing strength and professionalism of the Ghana Air Force Regimental Band. His consistent excellence set him apart among seasoned musicians and band leaders drawn from across the Services.

Born on 23 August 1985, WOII Buabeng began his basic education at Bethel Methodist Junior High School in Tamale before proceeding to Ghana Senior High School, Koforidua, where he graduated in 2004. He was recruited into the Ghana Air Force on 1 September 2006 as a Bandsman under the Administration Wing, and upon successful completion of his basic military training, he was posted to Air Force Base Takoradi, where he has served with distinction.

Committed to continuous self-development, WOII Buabeng furthered his education alongside his military career, earning advanced academic qualifications while maintaining high professional standards. His career progression has been defined by discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.

An accomplished clarinetist and percussionist, WOII Buabeng has made significant contributions to the operational readiness and musical excellence of the Ghana Air Force Regimental Band. His technical proficiency, artistic expression, and leadership have enhanced the band’s performances at ceremonial and state functions, reinforcing its reputation within the Ghana Armed Forces.

The honour of emerging as Overall Best in the Bandmaster Course stands as a testament to WOII Buabeng Benedict Kofi’s dedication to service, mastery of his craft, and exemplary professionalism qualities that continue to inspire fellow musicians and airmen of the Ghana Air Force.
