Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong

Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong was born on 14 June 1968 in Tarkwa, the Western Region of Ghana. He attended Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast where he attained his General Certificate of Education (Ordinary and Advance Levels) from 1982 to 1988. He was later enrolled at the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) for his basic military training and was commissioned into the Air Branch of the Ghana Air Force on 26 October 1992 as part of GMA Intake 32. On commissioning, he was posted to the then Air Force Station, Takoradi, in the same year.

Since he commissioned, he has attended numerous local and international courses. These include: Flying Training School (FTS) at the then Air Force Station, Takoradi from October 1992 to March 1995 as part of FTS Course 25, Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji-Kaduna (Nigeria) from July to November 2004, Senior Staff Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Teshie from September 2005 to August 2006 and Senior International Defence Management Course at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California in August 2021.

He has also completed a number of flight career courses including, Commercial Pilot License at the Flight Safety Academy from June 2009 to May 2010 and Building Partner Aviation Capacity Course in Hulbert Field in December 2017, all in Florida (USA).

Air Commodore Agyen-Frempong is a pilot of the No 1 Squadron and by dint of hardwork, has held the following appointments; No.1 Squadron Pilot and Acting Officer Commanding No.1 Squadron at the then Air Force Station Takoradi, Instructor at the Ghana Military Academy, Officer Commanding Air Force Recruit Training School, Assistant Director for Air Operations (Plans), Director of Operations and Director Air Operations at the Air Force Headquarters, Deputy Defence Attache at the Office of the Defence Advisor, Ghana High Commissioner, United Kingdom. He was reappointed Director Air Operations at the Air Force Headquarters and later appointed Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi. He is currently the Base Commander, Air Force Base, Accra. With regards to peacekeeping, he served as a Military Observer with the United Nations Organization in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Air Commodore Agyen-Frempong holds a Bachelor of Science Degree Honours in Tourism Studies and Resource Development from University of Cape Coast, a Master of Arts Degree Honour in International Affairs from University of Ghana and a Post Graduate Diploma Honour in Air Safety Management from London City University. He is married and the union is blessed with 3 children. He enjoys playing squash and walking.
