Personnel of 2 Garrison have participated in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) maiden all ranks mid-year entertainment programme held on Friday, 24 July 2026, at the Takoradi Sports Club.

The event was organised as an initiative of Higher Command to promote camaraderie, strengthen esprit-de-corps and provide personnel with an opportunity to interact in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The programme brought together personnel and their families for an evening of social interaction, recreation and entertainment away from the demands of routine military duties.

Delivering a brief address, the Garrison Commander who also doubles as the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi commended Higher Command for introducing the initiative, describing it as a welcome intervention that recognised the importance of balancing the demands of military service with the welfare of personnel. He noted that while professionalism, discipline and operational readiness remained the hallmark of the Ghana Armed Forces, opportunities for recreation and fellowship were equally essential in fostering unity and boosting morale.

The Garrison Commander encouraged personnel to continue strengthening the spirit of cooperation that existed among the three Services, stressing that joint activities such as the Mid-Year Entertainment enhanced mutual understanding, teamwork and the enduring bonds that underpinned the operational effectiveness of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The event featured a variety of music and dancing, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and camaraderie. Personnel had the opportunity to socialise with colleagues and their families while strengthening the sense of belonging within the Garrison.

The inaugural Mid-Year Entertainment ended on a high note, with participants expressing appreciation to Higher Command for the initiative and the opportunity to enjoy an evening dedicated to relaxation, networking and strengthening the unity of the 2 Garrison community.
