2024 WASSA HELD AT AIR FORCE BASE ACCRA
The Ghana Air Force has marked the 2024 West Africa Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) at the Air Force Base Accra on Friday 3 January 2025.
The annual event brought together personnel from the Air Force Headquarters, Air Force Base Accra, Air Force Logistics Command and their families to make merry and reflect on the past year. With Lekzy Decomic as the guest host and performances by renowned Ghanaian artistes, Trigmatic and Akwaboah the atmosphere was nothing short of amazing.
In his welcome address, the Commander Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong expressed gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, for his exceptional leadership, which has spearheaded numerous developmental projects within the Ghana Air Force.
He also acknowledged the contributions of individuals and organizations that supported the Air Force throughout the year, expressing hope for strengthened partnerships in 2025.
The Guest of Honour, Air Vice Marshal Julius Otchere Boateng (Rtd), commended personnel of the Ghana Air Force for their unwavering commitment and dedication towards national security and development.
He highlighted some the roles played by the Air Force in ensuring the safety of the territorial air space of the country and urged them continually pursue developmental partnerships in the execution of their mandate.
Air Vice Marshal Julius Boateng (Rtd) further appealed to Command to continue supporting retired Officers, Airmen and the Air Wives Organisation which would create a strong and enviable Air Force community.
During the event, some Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff who performed exceptionally over the past year were awarded.
