25 FLIGHT CADETS COMMISSION AS PART OF SSC/SD INTAKE 61

25 Flight cadets alongside 33 Army and 15 Naval cadets of the Short Service Commission and Special Duties (SSC/SD) Intake 61 have been commissioned into the Ghana Armed Forces on Friday 22 November 2024 at the Ghana Military Academy.

 

 

The cadets drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, underwent a transformative training programme which is designed to equip them with discipline and make them skilled officers capable of defending the territorial integrity of the country.

 

 

In his Keynote address, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo urged the cadets to uphold their oath of commission and serve with unwavering dedication.

 

 

His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo highlighted the Armed Force’s ongoing expansion which includes the establishment of Forward Operating Bases nationwide thus called on the graduating cadets to perform their duties professionally and diligently when deployed.

 

 

The Commander-in-Chief emphasised the conscious effort made in enhancing the operational capacity of GAF with additional logistics and accoutrements such as vehicles, speed boats, light attack and transport aircraft. He also noted the government’s efforts made in addressing accommodation challenges through the numerous projects ongoing at the various garrisons across the country.

 

 

The President used the occasion to remind personnel and graduating officer cadets to remain neutral during the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

 

 

Cadets who performed exceptionally during the training were awarded. The Best in Tactics was given to Cadet Corporal Wuni Nadia Isabelle, Cadet Sergeant Gyamfi Samuel Ameyaw earned the Commandant’s Award and Junior Under Officer Yaro Mohammed-Keilan was adjudged the Overall Best Cadet.
