Air Force Base (AFB) Takoradi has organised a three-week cadre programme for bandsmen in preparation for their main course at the Armed Forces Music School in Accra on Monday, 25 May, 2026.

Addressing participants during the opening session, the Officer Commanding Air Force Band, Flight Lieutenant Nelson Ocloo urged the bandsmen to remain disciplined, focused, and committed throughout the training period. He noted that the cadre was intended to refresh their knowledge and improve their performance ahead of the main course.

He further encouraged participants to uphold the values and standards of the Ghana Armed Forces, stressing the importance of teamwork, dedication, and professionalism in their duties as military musicians.

The instructor also advised the bandsmen to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from one another and improve upon their weaknesses during the period of training.

In his remarks, the Commanding Officer Admin Wing, Wing Commander Abdul Sherif Mustapha, commended the participants for their commitment and encouraged them to approach the training with seriousness and determination. He emphasised the important role military bands play during ceremonial and operational activities within the Ghana Armed Forces and urged them to strive for excellence at all times.

The cadre forms part of efforts by AFB Takoradi to build the capacity and professional competence of personnel within the Base.
