The official handing and taking over ceremony between the outgoing Chief Staff Officer (CSO), Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi and the newly appointed CSO, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah has been held at the Air Force Headquarters on Monday 12 May 2025.

In his remarks, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong commended Air Commodore Yirenkyi for his tireless and devoted service at the Headquarters and wished him well as he takes up the appointment as the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi.

For his part, Air Commodore Yirenkyi expressed his gratitude to Officers, Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He commended their dedication and urged them to maintain their high standards of professionalism and to support the new leadership in delivering the mandate of the Air Force.

The ceremony was preceded by the formal signing of the handing and taking over notes in the office of the Chief Staff Officer, symbolizing the official transfer of responsibilities.
