AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI ENDS EX YELLOW FLAG
A four-week exercise, codenamed EX YELLOW FLAG has ended at the Air Force Base Takoradi on Friday, 1 November 2024. The pre-deployment initiative was aimed at maintaining peace, security and order before, during, and after the upcoming general elections.
During the four-week exercise, participants underwent rigorous training in areas such as crowd dispersal, rules of engagement, cordon and search, radio communication, VIP escort, base camp defence, rescue operations and range practice.
On Wednesday, 30 October 2024, participants put the lessons learned during the exercise to the test by creating volatile scenarios at the Base.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, the Flying Group Commander at Air Force Base Takoradi, Group Captain Selase Agbenyefia, stated that as the general elections approach, troops must carry forward the lessons learned and remain vigilant, disciplined, and focused to safeguard the trust placed in them by Ghanaians.
She expressed her appreciation to the instructors involved in the exercise and urged personnel to continue honoring the principles that guide them as members of the Armed Forces.
The Commanding Officer of the Supply Wing at Air Force Base Takoradi, Wing Commander Samuel Kwame Baah Banson, who was the officer in charge of the exercise motivated personnel to uphold the tenets of the military profession in the performance of their duties in the upcoming general elections.
