AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI HOLDS END-OF-YEAR WASSA

The Air Force Base Takoradi has held its end-of year West African Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) on Friday 27 December 2024.

In his remarks, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bakoe who was the Guest of Honour expressed his profound gratitude to the Officers, Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff for their resilience, dedication and commitment throughout the year, enabling the Ghana Air Force make tremendous gains.

He noted that Command would not relent on improving the welfare of personnel, stressing that, the construction of accommodation across all Bases is a testament to Command’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of personnel.

He hinted on plans to re-equip the Ghana Air Force to enhance its capabilities and operations. He therefore urged personnel to continually display high professionalism in the discharge of their duties for the betterment of the Air Force and Ghana at large.

The Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Kwabena Manukure Atiemo speaking at the ceremony, commended the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare kwasi Bakoe for his exceptional leadership, guidance and unwavering support which had contributed immensely to the growth and achievements of the Base and the Air Force whiles expressing gratitude for his dedication to improving the welfare of Airmen and the Defence Civilian Staff.

He thanked all military personnel for their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout the year even in the face of challenges. He gave special recognition to individuals who performed exceptionally in their duties, contributing significantly to the Base's success.

He also expressed gratitude to the various corporate organisations and stakeholders that supported the Base through donations, sponsorships and partnerships and emphasised the positive impact their support had on the Base and the surrounding communities.
