The Air Force Base, Takoradi has organised its end-of-year fun games on Tuesday 24 December 2024.

The fun games saw spirited participation from Officers and Air men of the Base competing in events like tug-of-war and football between the Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, sparking laughter and friendly rivalry among participants and spectators. The games provided a perfect opportunity for relaxation and bonding after a year of dedicated service. 

In a brief remarks, the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Kwabena Manukure Atiemo commended the personnel for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. He urged them to take the opportunity and socialise and noted that, the event was an acknowledgment of their hard work and sacrifices they had made over the period.

He emphasised the importance of unity and teamwork, urging personnel to carry the same spirit into the new year. He extended his gratitude to the organising team for creating a platform that allowed members of the Base community to unwind and strengthen their bonds.

In the evening, the focus shifted to a heartwarming carols session when the melodic harmonies of the Base’s choir filled the air, bringing the true spirit of Christmas to life. The carols, accompanied with enthusiastic sing-alongs from the audience, created a magical and festive atmosphere. 

"This night is a celebration of not only the festive season but also the unity and dedication that define our base. It is heartwarming to see everyone come together, relax, and enjoy the festivities," he said. He also extended his gratitude to the organizing committee for putting together a successful event and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. 

The night was concluded with a vibrant social gathering, where attendees enjoyed refreshments, shared stories and experiences; serving as a testament to the strength of community and the importance of taking time to celebrate milestones together.
