AIR FORCE OFFICERS’ MESS RECEIVES MASSIVE FACELIFT

The Air Force Officers’ Mess has received a superb transformation of modern design and architecture. From its meticulous crafted interior decor to its flawless exterior finish, the Mess now stands as a testament of excellence within the Ghana Armed Forces.

In a colourful ceremony held on Tuesday 30 April 2024, both serving and retired Officers gathered to unveil the Mess amid merry making and enthusiasm.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lt Gen Thomas Oppong-Peprah commended the Chief of the Air Staff for his unwavering leadership in steering the refurbishment project to fruition.

“You have not only refurbished a building, but you have revitalized our camaraderie and espirit de corps” he added.

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah further urged members to cherish and maintain the facility so as to preserve the newly renovated space for future generations. He emphasised that the Mess was not just a place of merry making but a sacred space that embodies the shared history and traditions of the Air Force.

It is also heartwarming to note that the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Mess reconstruction project which begun last year is also nearing completion and would be unveiled soon.

The refurbishment of the Messes forms part of the Chief of the Air Staff’s overarching vision of improving infrastructure within the Air Force to ensure that Officers and Airmen are equipped with modern facilities to meet their operational and welfare needs.
