AIR FORCE OFFICERS ORGANISE BEACH PARTY
It was all joy, fun, and merry when Air Force Headquarters and Air Force Base Accra Officers took the Laboma beach by storm during this year’s Boxing Day which fell on Tuesday 26 December 2023.
Officers and their families beaming with smiles and enthusiasm gathered at the Laboma beach for their end-of-year beach party. Amidst several fun-filled activities that will forever be arched in the minds of many, this year's event proved to be extraordinary and will remain a pleasant memory for the many who participated.
Children were not left out as there were several activities to test their creativity. Some of the activities included dancing competitions and musical chairs. The winners of the various competitions took home cash awards from the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal FAK Bekoe who graced the occasion with his family. Beach toys, bouncy castles, trampolines and face paintings among others were also organised for the children to keep them engaged.
Parents and Adults were also entertained and took part in some fun activities such as playing of volley ball and other games. The highlight of the day was a tug-of-peace competition between female Officers and members of the Air Wives Organisation. After a fiercely contested event, the female Officers emerged victorious.
There were also lots of food to eat and variety of drinks with music provided by DJ Realer. A special flight past was also conducted by a Ghana Air Force Helicopter which drew excitement and applause from personnel and other beach revelers.
Most of the spouses and families interviewed were full of praise for the Ghana Air Force Command for the well-organised beach party. They were truly grateful for the opportunity to de-stress and bond with their families after working very hard throughout the year.
The beach party was graced by the Chief of the Air Staff with his family, Base Commander, Air Force Base Accra, the Chief Staff Officer at the Air Force Headquarters, the Military Secretary at the General Headquarters, and Senior Officers and Officers with their families and dependents.
