AIR MARSHAL FAK BEKOE COMMENDS PERSONNEL OF TAC BUI
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe has commended the Commander of Tactical Air Command (TAC) Bui, Air Commodore Elvis King Arneson and the Airmen under his command for their commitment and dedication to the success of the Ghana Air Force.
CAS extended the words of commendation to them during a durbar with personnel during his maiden visit to the Command on Friday, 17 January 2025. He applauded the Commander for his motivational leadership and the Airmen for the high morale and professionalism, urging all to continue to work hard and be proud of their efforts in building and writing the history of the Tactical Air Command and also their contributions towards the achievement of his vision for the Air Force to become a smart one capable of defending our territorial airspace against any threat and deliver air power effectively and efficiently for national development.
He spoke on activities and events in terms of capacity building in relation to training of personnel across branches within the Air Force, acquisition and maintenance of platforms and other equipment, infrastructure and welfare enhancement projects to boost the offensive posture and morale of the Air Force.
Air Marshal Bekoe also enumerated some plans for the future in order to keep personnel informed, motivated and empowered to contribute more effectively to deliver airpower to meet national security objectives.
He reminded personnel to uphold discipline, professionalism and other core values of the military profession and refrain from acts that would tarnish the image of the Air Force. He also advised them to ensure to take prayer and family commitment seriously as they cultivate the habit of saving and investing so as to be sound all round and have a peaceful mind to focus on official tasks.
The feedback on the impact of the visit was instantly felt from the highly motivated personnel who freely interacted with the CAS and offered first-hand information in the form of good suggestions, challenges and recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness.
On arrival, CAS made a courtesy call on the management of the Bui Power Authority (BPA) and extoled them for the strong collaboration and partnership that exist between them and the Tactical Air Command. He encouraged them to continuously work together for the common goal of protecting the Bui Dam which is a valuable national asset. The Director, Environmental Health Safety and Security at BPA, Mr Chrisentus Bangkewa Kuunifaa who received the CAS’s delegation comprising Staff Officers and directors from the Air Force Headquarters on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Honourable Engineer Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi expressed gratitude for the visit and assured of stronger collaboration and interdependence for mutual benefits.
As part of the visit CAS was taken on a conducted tour of the Command including its permanent site which is to be developed soon. He later celebrated their end of the year 2024 West African Soldiers Social Activity (WASSA) with them, together with traditional leaders, stakeholders and Sister Security Services in the area where he stressed on the need for collectivism in ensuring a safe and secure environment for development.
The Base Commander, Air Force Base, Takoradi Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Manukure Atiemo was also present to support Commander TAC Bui during the historic and motivational visit.
