AIR VICE MARSHAL AGYEN-FREMPONG PLEDGES INTEGRITY AND UNITY AT INDUCTION OF MILITARY HIGH COMMAND

In his address at the induction service held on Sunday, 11 May 2025, at the Church of Pentecost, Burma Camp, the Chief of the Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong dedicated his leadership to God and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the Ghana Armed Forces with integrity, courage, compassion and unity.

 

 

The ceremony, which marked the official induction of the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu,  Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen- Frempong and the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai provided an avenue for the newly appointed top hierarchy of the Ghana Armed Forces to express gratitude to the Almighty God for His protection and to seek divine guidance as they assume their responsibilities.

 

 

In his remarks, Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong expressed deep humility and appreciation for the trust bestowed upon him, particularly by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. He described the occasion not merely as a ceremonial gathering, but as a spiritual moment of dedication.

 

 

“Leadership in the Armed Forces, particularly at this level, is not merely about command and control. It is about responsibility, accountability and service to God, country and the people we have sworn to defend,” he stated.

 

Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong extended warm congratulations to the Chief of the Defence Staff and fellow Service Chiefs, pledging close collaboration to enhance operational effectiveness in the execution of their respective mandate of safeguarding the country.

 

 

Delivering the sermon, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, called on the inductees to foster unity and cooperation in their service, emphasising that such values are essential for the Ghana Armed Forces to remain strong and resilient in the face of any challenge. He also encouraged all personnel to support the Military High Command with commitment and loyalty.

 

 

The service was attended by the Minister for Defence, Honourable Edward Omane Boamah who was the Guest of Honour, Ministers of State, traditional leaders, families, serving and retired senior officers and men.
