AVM FAK BEKOE COMMISSIONS WO'S AND SNCO'S MESS AT THE AIR FORCE BARRACKS

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, officially commissioned the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ Mess on Tuesday 1 October 2024 at the Air Force Barracks, Burma camp.

 

 

In his address, AVM FAK Bekoe emphasised the vital role of Warrant Officers (WO) and the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCO) in the Ghana Air Force, highlighting their leadership and mentorship responsibilities.

 

 

He also said that the Mess stands as a testament to the commitment of providing a conducive environment for personnel. He said the building symbolises the appreciation for the service and commitment of WOs and SNCOs.

 

 

He however stated that, since he assumed office as the Chief of the Air Staff, renovating the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ Mess has been a priority hence having commissioned it he urged them to take good care of the mess.

 

 

The Base Commander, Air Force Base, Accra, Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong, in his speech, expressed his gratitude for the support received in bringing the project to fruition. He reiterated that the new facilities would help strengthen the bonds among personnel and promote teamwork within the ranks.

 

 

In addition to the commissioning of the mess, the ceremony also included the unveiling of new band instruments for the Silver Wings band, which is expected to enhance their musical performances during official events and ceremonies.

 

 

AVM FAK Bekoe used the opportunity to thank and present plaques to some deserving individuals who played key roles towards the construction of the mess project and they included Air Commodore Christopher Nii Armah Mills, Squadron Leader Ivy Naa Ayorko Tetteh from the Directorate of Engineering Services and Mr Kwasi Amoo Siriboe, the Chief Executive Officer of the Paragon Homes Limited.

 

 

 

 

 

The Chief of the Defence Staff Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah was in attendance and presented Gh¢5,000.00 to the mess as a kind gesture.

 

 

The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including former Chief of the Defence Staff, Air Marshal Michael Samson-Oje, as well as Serving and Retired Senior Officers, Members of Reitred Airmen Association, Members of the Air Wives Association and personnel of the Ghana Air Force.
