BOPP COMMENCES PHASE 3 OF OIL PALM PLANTATION AT AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI
A short ceremony has been held to commence a third phase of an ongoing oil palm plantation project between Air Force Base Takoradi and Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) PLC on Thursday16 May 2024.
In her remarks, the Commander Flying Group, Group Captain Selase Agbenyefia recounted the long-standing relationship between the Base and BOPP. She was hopeful that in due course the oil palms would yield the desired results .
The Senior Divisional Manager of BOPP, Mr Edward Dagadu noted that it was a good initiative for the Ghana Air Force to venture into the oil palm business. He said, oil palm had contributed significantly to the socio-economic growth of every society.
Air Force Base Takoradi and BOPP have had a good working relationship spanning more than a decade which has seen the two entities establish plantations at different areas of the Base from 2012 till date.
Present at the ceremony were the Senior Air Traffic Controller, Group Captain Edward Adongo, Senior Officers, Airmen and management of BOPP.
