A six-member delegation from the United States Army, led by Brigadier General Cederman, paid a working visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the Air Force Headquarters in Accra.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to engage in discussions on matters of mutual interest and cooperation between Ghana and the United States, with particular emphasis on strengthening existing defence and security partnerships. Brigadier General Cederman expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded to his delegation and underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the two forces.

In his remarks, Brigadier General Cederman highlighted the benefits of conducting joint search and rescue exercises, noting that such engagements would enhance operational readiness, interoperability, and overall effectiveness in responding to emergency situations. He further encouraged the Chief of the Air Staff to undertake a reciprocal working visit to the United States as a means of deepening bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation.

Responding to the delegation, the Chief of the Air Staff emphasised the need to enhance security and infrastructure at Ghana Air Force Bases, particularly through the provision of advanced aircraft communication and navigation equipment. He noted that such improvements would not only boost operational efficiency but also contribute significantly to the safety and effectiveness of air traffic services, to the mutual benefit of both countries.

The meeting concluded on a cordial note with the exchange of plaques between the Chief of the Air Staff and Brigadier General Cederman as a gesture of goodwill, mutual respect, and the enduring partnership between the Ghana Air Force and the United States Army.
