The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, has commissioned a three-story, 24-unit studio accommodation block at the Air Force Barracks, Accra on Tuesday 31 December 2024.

The newly completed facility, christened "Block A," consists of a prime living area, a modern kitchenette, a private bathroom and a bedroom.

In his address, AVM Bekoe commended the contractor, the architect and military personnel who ensured the project’s successful completion. He described the facility as a symbol of the progress made by the Air Force and commitment to improving the welfare of its personnel.

He mentioned that the project formed part of a broader initiative to address the housing deficit within the Ghana Air Force, with similar projects underway across other Air Force Bases.

“This project demonstrates our unwavering dedication to providing a conducive living environment for our personnel. It is vital to enabling them to deliver their best in service to the Ghana Air Force. I urge future occupants to adopt a responsible maintenance culture to ensure the facility serves its purpose and benefits future generations,” AVM Bekoe stated.

The Base Commander, Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong, expressed appreciation to AVM Bekoe for his leadership and support in addressing accommodation challenges.

Air Commodore Agyen-Frempong noted that, “with the continuous recruitment of more personnel, the issue of accommodation has been pressing thus the addition of this project brings significant relief and offers hope for further progress in tackling the housing deficit”.
