CDS APPLAUDS AIR FORCE LEADERSHIP AT END-OF-YEAR DINNER
The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has lauded the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe for his innovative leadership in driving infrastructural development and enhancing personnel training.
General Oppong-Peprah emphasised the importance of ongoing infrastructure projects, particularly in addressing accommodation challenges within the barracks. He praised the Air Force for raising Ghana's flag high, noting that more Pilots, Administrators, Flight Engineers and Air Traffic Controllers have benefited from training opportunities both locally and internationally.
He made these assertions during the end-of-year dinner held at the Air Force Officers' Mess, Accra on Saturday 18 January 2025.
Reaffirming the military's commitment to the Air Force, the CDS assured personnel of expanded training programmes and improved infrastructure to bolster national airspace security in line with the Ghana Armed Forces' broader expansion agenda.
In his remarks, President of the Mess Committee (PMC), Group Captain Baba Umaru Billey expressed gratitude to the Military High Command for their unwavering support.
It was a night of camaraderie, recognition and celebration as Air Commodore Basin Denis Dery (Rtd) was honoured for his exceptional service as PMC with a citation and a cash amount of $2,000.
Highlights of the event were, dazzling performances from the Silver Wings Band and celebrated Ghanaian musicians Dada KD and Kofi Kinaata. Patrons were treated to an elegant atmosphere amid the symbolic lighting of the perpetual flame which signifies unity and continuity.
