
GAFCSC HOLDS JOINT GRADUATION FOR SCSC 46 AND POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) held a joint graduation ceremony on Friday, 22 August 2025, for participants of the Senior Command and Staff Course 46 (SCSC 46), the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics (MDIP), and the Master of Science in Security Studies programmes.
This year’s graduation celebrated 13 Air Force officers who were part of the 67 Ghana Armed Forces officers completing SCSC 46, alongside 30 allied officers from 15 African countries.
In addition, 36 students from various security services and governmental agencies graduated with a Master of Science in Defence and International Politics, while seven others were awarded Master of Science degrees in Defence and Security Studies.
Delivering the keynote address, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Chairperson of the Armed Forces Council commended the College for its unwavering commitment to producing highly skilled officers and scholars. She noted that the College’s curriculum has evolved to meet the fast-changing global security landscape with the introduction of courses on multi-domain operations, future warfare models, digitisation, and cyber security.
She further highlighted the government’s dedication to supporting the College’s initiatives, including the introduction of a doctorate programme in Defence and International Politics and the expansion of postgraduate programmes.
Speaking on behalf of the College, Acting Commandant Brigadier General Jackson Wonje reiterated GAFCSC’s reputation as a premier center of excellence in military education and strategic thinking. He emphasised the institution’s role in fostering Pan-African military cooperation and intellectual exchange.
Brigadier General Wonje also noted that, as part of the African Study Tour, students visited Liberia, Senegal, Uganda, and Zimbabwe to conduct research on climate change, environmental security, and development.
