The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe attended the Global Air and Space Chiefs' Conference held in London from 17 to 18 July 2024. Together with Air and Space Power Chiefs from around the world, the 2-day conference focused on deterrence and the importance of collaboration.

In a keynote address, the Chief of the Air Staff of the Royal Air Force, Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Sir Rich Knighton, highlighted the costs of war and emphasised the need for a more sophisticated approach to deterring all-out wars. ACM Knighton noted the ever-evolving changes in the ways of warfare and therefore called for new approaches while acknowledging the challenges of recruiting and retaining the right personnel.

The event also provided a platform for industry captains, technology experts and international academia to deliberate on pressing issues and explore emerging technologies to maintain cutting-edge capabilities. Other speakers from international partners and global allies delivered presentations, while diverse panels of military, academic, industrial and scientific experts shared insights.

There was also a military air show featuring brilliant and breath-taking displays of different aircraft by the Royal International Air Tatoo in support of the Royal Air Force.

This year's conference also marked significant anniversaries, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the 100^th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Participating in the Conference were also the spouses of the various Air and Space Power Chiefs including Mrs Rosette Okyere Bekoe, wife of the Chief of the Air Staff of the Ghana Air Force. In attendance was also Ghana’s Defence Advisor to London, Brigadier General John Agyakwa
