The Master Air Warrant Officer (MAWO) of the Ghana Air Force, Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Amponsem Edward, has paid his first official visit to Air Force Base Accra as part of efforts to engage personnel and gain first-hand insight into issues affecting their professional development and welfare.

The visit, held on Monday, 28 September 2026, formed part of the MAWO’s ongoing familiarisation programme aimed at maintaining direct contact with Airmen and Airwomen across the various Bases and Units of the Service.

Addressing personnel, MWO Amponsem urged them to uphold the traditions and standards of the Ghana Air Force, stressing that discipline and professionalism must remain evident in their conduct both on and off duty. He encouraged personnel to take pride in their appearance, observe appropriate military courtesies and adhere to approved dress regulations.

He also emphasised the importance of security consciousness, reminding personnel that safeguarding the Base and the Service was a collective responsibility. He therefore encouraged them to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the appropriate channels.

On physical fitness, the MAWO urged personnel to take physical training seriously and remain prepared for fitness assessments. He further encouraged them to broaden their professional knowledge by learning from colleagues in other specialisations and taking advantage of available training and educational opportunities.

Touching on welfare and accommodation, MWO Amponsem acknowledged the challenges confronting personnel and encouraged occupants to properly maintain facilities provided by the Service for the benefit of current and future users.

He also reminded personnel to comply with regulations governing the wearing of the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) 2024 to promote uniformity and professionalism.

The engagement concluded with an interactive session during which personnel raised concerns and sought clarification on security, military courtesies and other workplace-related matters.
