MINISTRY OF FINANCE ORGANISES FINANCIAL EDUCATION FOR SECURITY SERVICES
A sensitization programme dubbed, ‘Ghana Financial Sector Development Project Financial Education Campaign’ was organised by the Ministry of Finance for personnel of the security services at the Auditorium of the Air Force Recruits Training School (AFRTS).
The resource person from Bank of Ghana (BOG), Mr. Yussif Abubakar said the programme was designed to educate security personnel on how to attain financial security and avoid financial mistakes.
He advised the personnel on the need to cultivate the habit of savings since that was one of the ways to achieving financial freedom.
A representative from Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr Godwin Asamoah during a lecture on investment cautioned the participants against investing in institutions that promised high returns on investments with little or no risks at all, as this may constitute a ponzy scheme.
In attendance were personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Fire Service and Ghana Prisons Service with consultants from BOG, SEC, National Insurance Commission (NIC) and National Pensions Regulatory Commission (NPRA).
