PRESIDENT OF AWO URGES MEMBERS TO SUPPORT SPOUSES IN MANAGING STRESS, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

The President of the Air Wives Organization (AWO), Mrs Fanny Agyen-Frempong has called on members to actively support their spouses in managing stress, anxiety and depression. She underscored the crucial role wives play in helping their husbands who serve as military personnel to maintain mental well-being and perform their duties effectively.

 

 

Mrs Agyen-Frempong made these remarks during the stress management and anxiety lecture held at the Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHFAC) on Saturday 31 August 2024. She further noted that the pressure and responsibility on military personnel are immense hence the need for wives to be strong companions in aiding their husbands navigate these challenges.

 

 

“I have learned to love and take good care of myself and maintain a calm mind always to be in a position to care for my family. I would like to express my gratitude to Command for organizing such an educative programme and also replicating it across the various Bases for our members” she added.

 

 

During the lecture, a psychologist and senior lecturer at GHFAC, Mrs Olivia Mawutor provided valuable insight into the proper management of stress, anxiety, depression and discussed various avenues for seeking help.

 

The session was graced by the wife of the Chief of the Air Staff, Mrs Rosette Otchere Bekoe who also serves as the patron of AWO.
