RETIRED AIR FORCE OFFICERS GATHER FOR ANNUAL LUNCHEON
The Retired Commissioned Air Force Officers Association (RCAFOA) has held its annual end-of-year luncheon at the Air Force Officers' Mess bringing together retired officers to celebrate their service and strengthen camaraderie on Friday 31 January 2025, Burma camp.
The Vice President of RCAFOA Group Captain Obeng-Ntim (Rtd) expressed gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices made by both retired and serving Officers.
He stated that the end of year luncheon is organised every year to bring all together to relax, socialize, dine and wine in order to take away the stress and tensions and also strategise for the new year.
He however used the opportunity to encourage his colleagues to actively participate in all activities including being regular at meetings and honouring financial obligations.
The gathering was also graced by the presence of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, who delivered his speech acknowledging the ongoing commitment of retired officers to the Air Force.
In a significant gesture of support, Air Marshal Bekoe pledged GH¢50,000 to assist the Association, underlining the importance of maintaining a strong connection between active and retired personnel. His commitment was met with enthusiasm from the attendees, who appreciated the dedication shown by the current leadership.
During the ceremony, Wing Commander Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor (Rtd) was honoured with a plaque and a monetary award of $2,000 in recognition of his exemplary service and contributions to the Air Force. The presentation underscored the Association’s dedication to celebrating the achievements of its members and promoting a lasting legacy of excellence.
