SIX HELICOPTER PILOTS RECEIVE TYPE RATING
Six newly trained Ghana Air Force pilots of the No.8 Helicopter Wing have received type rating on the Z9-EH aircraft after successfully completing a-five month conversion training at the Air Force Base Takoradi. The conversion training was organised, following the successful completion of their 7-month ab-initio professional helicopter pilot training at the United States Aviation Training Solutions (USATs) in Florida, United States of America.
After demonstrating proficiency and competence throughout the challenging and rigorous training, each of the six pilots was given the opportunity to complete a Mutual Flight on Friday, 25 October 2024. The mutual flights marked the conclusion of their conversion training and represented a significant milestone in their military aviation career.
The Base Commander of Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Manukure Atiemo congratulated the pilots on their achievement. He joined the Commanding Officer of the Flying Group, Air Force Base Takoradi, Group Captain Selase Agbenyefia along with Officers and Instructors in the tradition of wetting the pilots to honour their remarkable accomplishment.
The newly trained pilots are: Flight Lieutenant Christopher Yaw Asuka, Flight Lieutenant Wisdom Sheshie Deku, Flying Officer Nii Akrashie Appoe, Flying Officer Papa Kojo Abrokwah, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Flying Officer Isaac Tuobewere Tanle."
