STUDENTS OF GAFCSC SENIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE 46 VISIT AIR FORCE BASE ACCRA
Students of the Senior Command and Staff Course 46, at the Ghana Armed Forces Command Staff College embarked on a day study visit to the Air Force Base Accra in Burma Camp.
The Assistant Commandant of the College, Air Commodore Thomas Niifio Okai led the team of students and Directing Staff on the visit on Thursday, 31 October 2024 as part of their Air Combat Power Week. This followed a keynote lecture delivered by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe at the college on the same day.
The Officer Commanding the Alpha Squadron of the Communication Wing, Squadron Leader Fred Ato Yates, gave a detailed presentation on the organisation and role of the Base, its Mission, Vision, Operational and administrative activities, platforms and future projections.
The Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong, interacted with the students during an open forum and offered valuable insights into the Base’s operations and activities.
The participants were taken on a conducted tour of the Base, where they familiarised themselves with routine operations at the various wings and other facilities on the Base.
The Senior Command and Staff Course 46 comprises a total of 98 students of which 67 Officers are from the Ghana Armed Forces as well as 31 Officers from 16 allied African countries. These countries include Benin, Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Gambia. The rest are Namibia, Mali, Rwanda, South Africa, Togo, Malawi, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia, and Nigeria.
