TANZANIAN DEFENCE DELEGATION VISITS AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS

A nine-member delegation from the Tanzanian People Defence Force (TPDF), led by Commodore MM Khamis, has paid a working visit to the Air Force Headquarters on Friday 11 July 2025.

The visit formed part of the delegation’s ongoing study tour of Ghana aimed at gaining firsthand insights into how the Ghanaian military functions, with a particular focus on career development.

The delegation was warmly received by the Chief Staff Officer, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah, on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff. They were briefed by the Air Secretary, Group Captain Baba Umaru Billey, and Wing Commander Amatus Dery on Career Development and Succession Planning for Officers and Airmen in the Ghana Air Force.

The presentation shed light on how career pathways are structured within the Air Force, including training programmes, capacity-building efforts, and long-term development strategies that guide personnel throughout their service. It also explored how leadership transitions are managed to ensure continuity and operational effectiveness.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Commodore Khamis expressed sincere appreciation for the warm welcome and the in-depth presentation. He described the visit as highly enriching and noted that the lessons learned would significantly support their study objectives and professional development.
