TRADERS AT AIR FORCE MARKET EDUCATED ON FIRE SAFETY

Personnel from the Rescue Fire Fighting Service in collaboration with the Base Safety Team from the Air Force Base Accra have educated traders at the Air Force market in Burma Camp on fire safety measures.

During the visit to the market, the team led by Senior Warrant Officer Osei Marfo Halifax and Warrant Officer Class I Kwakye Prince Carlos Kwame conducted a routine inspection of the availability, suitability and accessibility of fire extinguishers at the stores in the market.

The traders were also engaged and taught basic firefighting and fire prevention techniques and also encouraged to obtain their own firefighting equipment. They were also advised on the importance of insuring their shops against fire.

As a measure to promote early reporting of incidences of fire, a fire section was opened at the market where personnel of the Base will be on call to attend to any fire issue within the market.
