69 AIRBORNE FORCE HOLDS CLOSING CEREMONY FOR AIR FORCE SPECIAL TASK UNIT COURSE 1/24

The 69 Airborne Force has held a closing ceremony for the third batch of personnel of the Ghana Air Force Special Task Unit (STU Course 1-24) in Tamale on Friday 18 October 2024.

 

 

The ceremony took place at the Air Force Base Tamale and began with a demonstration including Close Quarter Battle drills to crown their training which commenced on Monday 2 September 2024 with a total of 39 personnel.

 

 

The Guest of Honour, Commander Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai in his address congratulated all participants for the successful completion of the course. He acknowledged their resilience and charged them to be exemplary as a lot will be expected of them while he emphasized on the need to remain aware of the core values of pride, discipline and integrity as soldiers.

 

 

The Commanding Officer of the 69 Airborne Force, Lieutenant Colonel Louis Yaw Boakye in his welcome remarks thanked then Base Commander for this support and stated that, the collaboration between the Ghana Army and the Ghana Air Force is a clear demonstration of the power of joint efforts in the Ghana Armed Forces. He added that this underscores the critical importance and impact of inter-service cooperation, combined expertise and resources on the Armed Forces.

 

 

He also stated that the training had enhanced the physical fitness, combat skills and mindset of participants which would help improve the effectiveness of base camp security and other operational activities.

 

He expressed his gratitude to the Chief of the Army Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff for giving the Unit the opportunity to run the course.

 

 

Present at the ceremony were the Command Operations Officer, Headquarters Northern Command, Colonel Gyebi Abrokwah, Commanding Officer 93 Signal Regiment, Lt Col Benjamin Adjei, Commanding Officer Engineering Wing, Squadron Leader Benjamin Adumuah Ocquaye, Second in Command 6 Infantry Battalion, Major Owusu Agyeman, Training Officer Major Hubert Nartey, Officers, Flight Cadets of Regular Career Course 63 and Soldiers of 6 Garrison.
