Air Force Base Takoradi has organised an End of Year Fun Games for Officers, Warrant Officers (WOs) and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) as part of activities to celebrate the Christmas festivities at the Air Force Base Asmara Park on Wednesday, 24 December 2025.

The games were keenly contested between Officers, WOs and SNCOs, creating an atmosphere of excitement, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. At the conclusion of the fun games, the WOs/SNCOs Airwomen emerged winners of the tug of war, whilst the Airmen won the soccer game with a penalty shootout. Squadron Leader Leh was awarded the Overall Best Player for his outstanding performance.

In his remarks, the Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, emphatically stated that the Officers and WOs/SNCOs Games served as an important platform to foster unity, teamwork, strengthen bonds as well as raise high morale among personnel beyond the routine duties; adding that the Base’s successes were built on cooperation, dedication and resilience.

The End of Year Fun Games were successfully climaxed with all ranks proceeding to the Officers’ Mess to wine and dine off the day's activity; thereby bringing the event to a festive and memorable close.

During the games, Staff Sergeant Ernest of the UK Army donated jerseys to the Base. The Base Commander received the donation on behalf of the Base and thanked him for the kind gesture whilst acknowledging him for his continued support and cooperation.
