AFB TAKORADI HOLDS REAFFIRMATION, ELEVATION AND INITIATION CEREMONY
The Air Force Base Takoradi has held a reaffirmation, elevation and initiation ceremony for its newly promoted Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers at the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Mess on Thursday, 2 October 2025.
The ceremony, one of the military’s proud traditions, began with Warrant Officers Class One solemnly reaffirming their oath of allegiance to uphold the Constitution of Ghana, defend its territorial integrity, and serve with humility.
The Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, congratulated all the elevated Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, reminding them of the higher standards of discipline, integrity and professionalism expected of their new ranks. He urged them to maintain discipline, mentor and train younger soldiers and serve with pride and honour.
Air Commodore Yirenkyi also encouraged the personnel to continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills, noting that modern operational environments are increasingly dynamic.
Newly promoted sergeants were initiated into the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Mess and took part in the symbolic rank wetting ceremony, which marked a significant transition in responsibility and commitment to professional growth.
On behalf of all promoted personnel, WO1 Dedzo Suzana Mawufemor Abla expressed gratitude to the Base Commander and the Mess Committee for organising the ceremony.
