AFHQ DELEGATION VISITS GROUP CAPTAIN EDWARD AWUVIRI (RTD)
As part of activities marking Ghana Month, the Air Force Headquarters began a series of visits to former Chiefs of the Air Staff. The initiative is intended to strengthen the bond between current leadership and past commanders while also drawing on their rich experience and institutional knowledge.

In continuation of the exercise, the delegation led by the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Administration), Air Commodore Sophia Adzo Jiagge, paid a visit to Group Captain Edward A A Awuviri (Rtd), at his residence on Friday, 13 March 2026.

The delegation conveyed warm greetings from the Chief of the Air Staff and expressed appreciation for the invaluable contributions of former Air Force leaders to the growth and development of the Service.

During the interaction, Group Captain Awuviri, who was the 9th Chief of the Air Staff, shared valuable experiences and reflections from his years of dedicated service. He encouraged the delegation to continue upholding the high standards, discipline and professionalism that define the Ghana Air Force.

At the end of the visit, the delegation presented an undisclosed cash donation to Group Captain Awuviri (Rtd) as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation for his service to the nation. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff and the visiting team for the thoughtful gesture.

Other members of the delegation included the Acting DCSO Log, Group Captain Djagmah, Director Training, Group Captain Krampah Kwabena Antwi and the Deputy Director of Administration (Organisation and Services), Wing Commander Louisa Boakye among others.
