AFRTS GRADUATES 47 NSP FROM BASIC MILITARY ORIENTATION TRAINING
The Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) has held a graduation ceremony to mark the end of Basic Military Orientation Training for National Service Personnel (NSP) posted to the Air Force Base Takoradi at the AFRTS Square on Thursday, 11 December 2025.

The 47 NSP, comprising 19 men and 28 women, completed four weeks of Basic Military Orientation Training, aimed at equipping them with basic military bearing, which would enable them to carry out their normal duties as National Service Personnel at the Air Force Base Takoradi.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Officer Commanding Personnel Services Squadron (OC PSS), Squadron Leader Francis Azebiah Ekpale, on behalf of the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi (AFB TAK), Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, congratulated the NSP for completing the basic orientation training, stating that it was their transition from training to their official place of work.

He urged them to embrace new challenges as they joined one of the nation’s most critical institutions for their national service. He added that they should exhibit the highest form of discipline since it was the hallmark of the military. He also advised them to work with humility, be eager to learn, absorb expertise, and always respect the established chain of command.
At the end of the ceremony, Mr Benedict Duku Arthur received the noble award for being the outstanding trainee during the basic orientation training.

Present at the ceremony included the OC AFRTS, Wing Commander Newman Suhuba Naab, OC Morale AFB Tak, Flight Lieutenant Asiedu-Darkoa, the Training Officer, Pilot Officer Kenneth Tierebuo Sondem, Officers, the Training Warrant Officer, Warrant Officer Class I Nartey Steven and instructors from AFRTS.
