AIR COMMODORE YIRENKYI COMMENDS PERSONNEL FOR DEDICATED SERVICE

The Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, has commended personnel of the Base for their dedicated service to the Ghana Armed Forces and the Republic of Ghana, noting their professionalism and discipline as the bedrock of military service, particularly in challenging times. Air Commodore Yirenkyi made these remarks during the last quarter durbar with all ranks, held on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, at Air Force Base Takoradi.

 

 

He charged personnel to remain tactful, vigilant, and courteous to visitors, while paying keen attention to detail in the performance of their duties. The Base Commander further urged personnel to prioritise their personal security, especially during the Yuletide season. He also cautioned personnel to adhere strictly to the Ghana Armed Forces social media guidelines to avoid adverse repercussions.

 

 

During the durbar, outstanding personnel who distinguished themselves in the line of duty were recognised for their exemplary performance. Flight Sergeant Eshun Michael was awarded Best Airman of the Flying Group for 2025, while Corporal Twumasi George received the award for Best Engineering Airman of the Year. Sergeant Avornyo Isaac was named Best Storeman of the Supply Wing, and Leading Aircraftman Serwaa Mary was adjudged Best Administration Airman of the Year. The award for Best Defence Civilian Staff for 2025 was presented to Mr Dunyo John.
