AIR FORCE BASE ACCRA HOLDS REAFFIRMATION, ELEVATION, AND INITIATION CEREMONY

Air Force Base Accra has held a solemn reaffirmation, elevation, and initiation ceremony for newly promoted Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers on Thursday, 20 November 2025. The event marked an important tradition that reinforces loyalty, discipline, and professional excellence within the Service.

During the ceremony, newly promoted Warrant Officers Class I reaffirmed their oath to uphold the territorial integrity of Ghana and serve with honour. Newly promoted Warrant Officers Class II were elevated, while promoted Sergeants were formally initiated into the Mess. This was followed by the symbolic rank-wetting ritual, where the ranks of newly promoted personnel were sprinkled with water signifying their transition into higher responsibility, service, and commitment to growth.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, the Chief Staff Officer, Air Commodore Matthias Awuah, reminded personnel that responsibility must be evident both in and out of uniform. He emphasised that promotion comes with the duty to mentor, guide, and uphold the values and culture of the Ghana Air Force. He added that leadership cannot thrive without the dedication and support of Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers. Air Commodore Awuah congratulated the newly promoted personnel and urged them to remain custodians of discipline and the essential link between the lower ranks and higher command.

A minute of silence was observed in honour of departed personnel. Speaking on behalf of all those promoted, Warrant Officer Class I Tsotsoo Ansah expressed appreciation to the Chief Staff Officer and the Mess Committee for the successful organisation of the ceremony.
