AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI INDUCTS NEW BASE COMMANDER

Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi has been officially inducted into office as the new Base Commander of Air Force Base Takoradi on Sunday, 22 June 2025. The ceremony, held at the Ashley Lassen Hangar, was marked by a solemn religious parade themed “Not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.”

 

 

Reverend Father Lt Col Benjamin Kwasi Effah administered the oath on behalf of the GAF Religious Affairs Department and encouraged personnel to support the new Commander physically and spiritually.

 

 

In his address, Air Commodore Yirenkyi pledged integrity, collaboration, and a strong focus on personnel welfare. Guest of Honour, Western Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Nelson, applauded the appointment, highlighting the importance of courage, wisdom, and compassion in leadership.

 

 

 

The induction was graced by dignitaries including the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai; the Base Commander, Air Force Base Tamale, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi; the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Commodore Samuel Ayelazono; and the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Logistics Command, Commodore Eric Osei. Other senior military officers, both serving and retired, clergy, traditional authorities, friends, and family members were also present.
