AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI RECEIVES DONATION FROM OMANHENE OF LOWER AXIM

The Air Force Base Takoradi on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, received a donation of a brand new 55-inch flat-screen television set and an Air Conditioner from the Omanhene of Lower Axim Traditional Area, Awulae Attibrukusu III at the Base Headquarters.

 

In his remarks, the Base Commander, Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, who received the items on behalf of the Base, expressed immense gratitude to the traditional ruler for his benevolence. The Commander also called for the continued cooperation between the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in general, the Air Force Base Takoradi in particular and the Traditional Institutions in the Western Region, as well as the entire country. He assured the Chief that the appliances would be properly maintained and put to good use.

 

 

On his part, the Omanhene of Lower Axim, Awulae Attibrukusu III underscored the importance of the Takoradi Airport to the socio-economic development of the Western Region and as a convenient gateway to its users. He noted that he responded to an appeal made by the Base to corporate organisations and other philanthropists for assistance, hence the kind gesture. He pledged to continue collaborating with the Base in diverse ways.

 

 

Present at the occasion were the Commander Flying Group, Group Captain Selassie Yaya Agbenyefia, Commanding Officer Air Traffic Management, Wing Commander Clara Oduro-Gyamfi, Commanding Officer Administration Wing, Wing Commander Abdul Aziz Sherif Mustapha, Officers, Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff.
