AIR FORCE COMMENCES DRILL AND DUTIES COURSE

The Ghana Air Force has commenced its maiden Basic and Advance Drill and Duties Course on Monday, 16 October 2023 at the Air Force Recruit Training School in Takoradi. Comprising forty- five participants drawn from the various Bases within the Air Force, the Course is expected to run for a period of three months. 

 

 

During the opening ceremony, the Guest of Honour, Deputy Chief Staff Officer, Projects and Air Intelligence, Air Commodore (Air Cdre) Christopher Nii Armah Mills, in his remarks said that, the course was designed to provide participants with the core values and regimentation on which the Ghana Air Force administer its mandate and its act of professionalism.

 

 

He noted that acquiring the skills was necessary for the efficient operation of the military and made emphasis on two fundamental principles which were leadership and teamwork.  

 

 

He explained that, the hallmark of an astute leader entailed the act of exhibiting exemplary life with honesty and caring for a fellow soldier while inspiring others through their deeds.

 

Air Cdre Mills reminded the participants that, their actions had a direct consequence on the safety and wellbeing of their fellow military personnel. He, therefore, entreated them to approach the course with an open mind and the desire to acquire knowledge which could be applicable in their future endeavours.

 

 

On his part, the Commanding Officer, Air Force Recruit Training School, Wing Commander NS Naab noted that the course was the first of its kind in the history of the Ghana Air Force. He therefore entreated the participants to take the course very seriously with a positive mind-set.

 

 

 

In attendance were the Officer Commanding Flying Wing, Group Captain Kwame Alifo, the Senior Air Traffic Controller, Group Captain Adongo, the Base Commanding Officer, Western Naval Command, Lieutenant Commander Dankwah, Master Air Warrant Officer, Master Warrant Officer Bawa among others.
