AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS HONOURS OUTSTANDING PERSONNEL AT END-OF-YEAR DURBAR
The Air Force Headquarters has honoured outstanding Airmen and Defence Civilian Staff for their exemplary performance during the year under review at its end-of-year durbar held on Monday 29 December 2025, at the forecourt of the Air Force Headquarters.

The durbar served as a platform for leadership and personnel to reflect on the year’s activities, consolidate gains made, and chart a strategic path towards enhanced operational effectiveness in the coming year. As part of the ceremony, special recognition and dedication to service awards were presented to deserving soldiers and civilian staff in acknowledgement of their hard work, commitment, and professionalism.

Mr Peter Dakpo and Mr Gilbert Mensah, who had rendered 32 and 34 years of meritorious service, respectively, and were proceeding on retirement, were presented with citations and 55-inch television sets in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the Ghana Armed Forces.


Sergeant Danku Jones emerged as the Overall Best Airman of the Year and the Best Personnel in the Engineering Wing, receiving a deep freezer, a citation, and a Melcom shopping voucher. Warrant Officer Class I Djimateye Monica was adjudged the Best Supply Personnel, Corporal Boafo Ishmael won the Best Air Operations Personnel award, while Leading Aircraftwoman Baah Abigail was named the Best Personnel in the Administration Branch. Mr Tsatsu Gedzah Bobobee of the Service Public Relations Office received the Best Defence Civilian Staff award of the year.





Delivering his remarks, the Chief Staff Officer, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah, stated that the awards were intended to motivate all personnel and serve as a reminder that hard work, dedication, and professionalism do not go unnoticed. He encouraged personnel to continue discharging their duties with commitment and excellence, assuring them that due recognition would be accorded to them in due time.

Air Commodore Awuah further conveyed New Year goodwill messages on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff and urged all personnel to uphold discipline, professionalism, and responsible conduct as they enter the new year.
