CAS EMPHASISES THE IMPORTANCE OF TRAINING AND WELFARE IN CONDUCTING SUCCESSFUL AIR OPERATIONS

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) , Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe has emphasised that training of personnel in various capacities and improving their welfare is essential in conducting successful air operations. He added that it was key in attaining the status of a smart Air Force capable of delivering air power effectively and efficiently to meet national security and developmental goals.

 The CAS highlighted these when he delivered a keynote lecture as part of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) Air Combat Power Week  on Thursday 31 October 2024.

 Focusing on his vision and the contributions of the Ghana Air Force, the CAS noted that training and welfare packages for airmen enhances their skills and help them develop  new  competencies for achieving the mission of the Air Force.

Air Vice Marshal Bekoe also pointed out that upgrading  the quality of life of personnel remains his priority. Hence, he listed a number of  infrastructural and welfare  projects such as accommodation, office buildings among others taking place across the various Bases and Commands for personnel.

 Senior Command and Staff  Course 46 comprise a total of  98 students of which 67  Officers are  from the Ghana Armed Forces as well as 31 Officers from 16 allied African countries. These countries include Benin, Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Gambia. The rest are Namibia, Mali, Rwanda, South Africa, Togo, Malawi, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia, and Nigeria.

In appreciation for his presence and contributions to the development of the college, the Commandant, Major General Mathew Essien presented a plaque to the Chief of the Air Staff.
