The Ghana Air Force is among participants in the Ghana Transport and Logistics Fair (GTLF) being held at the World Trade Centre, Accra. As part of its crucial role in the aviation sector of the country, the Ghana Air Force joined the industry players to mark the landmark convergence for policy, partnership and progress.
The fair was officially opened by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces and President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, 22 October 2025.
The event, held under the theme “Resetting Ghana’s Transport Sector for Innovation, Connectivity and Investment,” brought together key stakeholders from the aviation, maritime, rail and road transport sectors, including, transport operators, investors and innovators.
Delivering the keynote address, President Mahama, described the fair as more than just a gathering of stakeholders, but a bold statement of intent focusing on modernity, innovation, safety and sustainability.
He emphasised that the platform serves not only for exhibition and networking but also for dialogue and collaboration between the public and private sectors, aimed at positioning Ghana as the transport and logistics hub of West Africa.
According to the President, the vision aligns with the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), whose secretariat is based in Accra. He noted that with enhanced port efficiency, modern rail connectivity, expanded airport infrastructure, efficient road networks and digital logistics systems, Ghana is well-positioned to become the gateway for efficient trade and movement of goods and services across the sub-region.
In his remarks, the Minister for Transport, Honourable Joseph Bukari Nipke, underscored that the nation’s transport and logistics sector is entering a new era thereby called for innovation, inclusion and effective collaboration.
He added that the fair provides an avenue to showcase how coordinated investment, smart technologies, and sustainability can redefine the movement of people and goods and also set a new standard for the country’s transport future.
