This year’s championship features 16 elite clubs drawn from the Greater Accra Volleyball Association (GAVA), alongside top-tier teams from Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Benin. Taking place from 16 to 23 November 2025, the week-long contest promises explosive rallies, powerful spikes, and high-intensity matchups from some of the sub-region’s finest players.

Delivering the opening address, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon Kofi Iddie Adams, urged the athletes to demonstrate passion, professionalism, and good sportsmanship throughout the championship. He stressed the importance of discipline, respect for coaches and opponents, and strict adherence to tournament regulations to ensure fair and competitive play.

The Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Operations and Training), Brigadier General William Kwabiah, who represented the Chief of the Army Staff, also encouraged the athletes to give their best on the court while upholding the values of teamwork, respect, and discipline, which remain central to the development of volleyball in Ghana and the region.

Founder of the SVC, Mr Mohammed Aputeog, described the tournament as more than a competition but “a celebration of passion, teamwork, and the spirit that continues to push volleyball forward in Ghana.” He emphasised that the Championship has become a platform where talent meets opportunity, urging participants to embrace unity, fair play, and excellence as they contribute to building a lasting legacy for future generations.
