The new United Kingdom Defence Advisor (DA) to Ghana, Lieutenant Colonel Nick Wood has paid a working visit to the Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ) on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.

He was accompanied by the outgoing Defence Advisor, Commander Richard Walters, who indicated that the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce Lieutenant Colonel Wood to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong.

On behalf of the CAS, the Defence Advisor was received by the Chief Staff Officer, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah, who welcomed him to the Headquarters and highlighted the longstanding bilateral defence relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

Lieutenant Colonel Wood expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the Ghana Air Force and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the existing collaboration and partnership between the two countries.
