NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS' WIVES TRIUMPH IN AWO COOKOUT COMPETITION

In a spirited celebration of Ghana's 69th Independence Day, the Air Wives Organisation (AWO) of the Ghana Air Force organised an exciting cookout competition that brought together the wives of both commissioned and non-commissioned officers on Friday 6 March 2026.

 

 

The event, aimed at fostering camaraderie and showcasing culinary talents, took place at the premises of the AWO Secretariat and witnessed enthusiastic participation from all attendees.

 

 

The competition featured a variety of dishes from both teams, highlighting traditional Ghanaian cuisine and innovative recipes. Judges, comprising wives of retired senior military Officers and respected guests, sampled the delicious offerings and evaluated them based on taste, presentation, and originality.

 

 

 

After a lively contest filled with friendly rivalry, the non-commissioned officers' wives emerged victorious, impressing the judges with their exceptional cooking skills and teamwork. The joyous atmosphere culminated in the presentation of a trophy to the winning team, marking their achievement and celebrating their culinary prowess.

 

 

The success of the cookout competition promises to become an annual highlight, celebrating both the culinary talents of the airmen's families and the rich culture of Ghana.

 

 

Present at the event were the Patron and wife of the Chief of the Air Staff, Mrs Fanny Agyen-Frempong and past Patrons, Mrs Paula Hanson and Mrs Rosette Okyere Bekoe.
