OFFICERS AND SENIOR NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS STRENGTHEN BOND THROUGH FUN GAMES
In line with tradition and promoting the spirit of sportsmanship , Officers from the Air Force Headquarters and the Accra Base on Wednesday 24 December 2025 hosted Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers to a day of fun games and merry making.

The purpose of the event was to promote camaraderie, teamwork, and esprit de corps within the Service.

A variety of competitive and recreational activities featured prominently during the games, including football, volleyball, shuttle races, and tug-of-war.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, commended the organisers for sustaining the annual tradition and described it as an important platform for strengthening bonds among personnel. He emphasised the importance of physical fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, noting that these qualities are essential for personnel to effectively discharge their duties. The CAS further advised personnel to remain security-conscious, particularly with regard to the safety of their families during the festive season. He concluded by wishing all personnel a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

At the end of the competitions, the Officers’ team emerged as the overall best team, securing victories in football, shuttle race, and volleyball events. The WOs and SNCOs team also distinguished themselves by winning the tug-of-war competition, earning a trophy for their performance.

Following the games, the Officers hosted the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers at the Officers’ Mess for an after-games reception. The reception provided a relaxed setting for further interaction across ranks and reinforced the strong bonds of unity within the Service. Personnel enjoyed kenkey and a variety of traditional Ghanaian snacks amid laughter, music, and general merry-making, bringing the day’s activities to a fitting and memorable close.

The Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Lartei Mensah-Larkai, graced the event alongside directors, senior officers, airmen and Defence Civilian Staff from the Air Force Headquarters and Air Force Base.
