PRESIDENT MAHAMA LAUNCHES 2025 NATIONAL CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH

President John Dramani Mahama,on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 , has launched the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) at Burma Hall in Burma Camp. The launch was under the theme “Building a Safe, Informed and Accountable Digital Space.”

 

 

He outlined four flagship initiatives including, One Million Coders Programme, Digital Jobs Initiative, Fintech Growth Fund, and the 24-Hour Economy which are aimed at boosting job creation, digital resilience, and cyber security.

 

 

 

The Acting Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti, emphasised collaboration to curb cybercrime, while Minister for Communication and Digital Technology, Honourable Samuel Nartey George, revealed Ghana has 24.3 million internet users (70% penetration) and 7.95 million active social media accounts, ranking 15th globally.

 

 

The event ended with the inauguration of an 18-member Joint Cyber Security Committee to strengthen Ghana’s cyber resilience agenda.
