87 STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM GHANA AIR FORCE AVIATION COLLEGE

The Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHAFAC) on Thursday, 2 April 2026, graduated 87 students comprising 58 trainees from Courses 16A and 16B, including 29 in Non-Technical Trades at a ceremony held at the Air Force Base Accra. The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening the Ghana Air Force’s aviation support capacity.

The graduates underwent two years of specialised and intensive training in Aviation Fire and Safety Management, Aviation Logistics Management, and Aerospace Operations and Management Studies. The training was designed to enhance safety, efficiency and mission effectiveness within the Service.

In his welcome address, the Commanding Officer of GHAFAC, Wing Commander Samuel Oteng Frimpong, noted that the College remains committed to training competent personnel to augment and sustain the operational readiness of the Ghana Air Force. He further disclosed that efforts were underway to secure accreditation from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, aimed at elevating the College’s status in line with both local and international aviation standards.

The Guest of Honour, Commander Air Force Logistics Command, Air Commodore Samuel Benjamin Offei, commended the graduands for their discipline, resilience, and successful completion of the programme. He emphasised that the course forms a critical foundation for the various non-technical trades within the Service.

He reminded the graduands that graduation marks the beginning of greater responsibility, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and excellence. According to him, “the Ghana Air Force and the nation will measure your worth not by your certificates, but by your actions, decisions and effectiveness on duty.”

Air Commodore Offei further underscored the importance of continuous self-improvement, cautioning against complacency. Quoting that “comfort is the enemy of progress,” he noted that complacency remains a significant threat in both aviation and military operations. He encouraged the graduands to remain vigilant, adaptable, and to apply the knowledge acquired in all their future assignments.

Highlighting the critical roles the graduands will play, he stressed that their competence and reliability will directly impact lives and mission success. “Lives will depend on your competence, and missions will depend on your effectiveness. Uphold discipline, professionalism, and excellence at all times,” he added.

The Guest of Honour reaffirmed the Ghana Air Force’s commitment to building a capable and professional force and charged the graduands to uphold the image of the Service with integrity, proving themselves worthy of the investment made in their training.

He also commended the instructors and staff of the College for their dedication in shaping both the skills and character of the trainees, and acknowledged the leadership of the Commanding Officer in advancing the standards of the institution.
