The Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) held a Passing-Out Religious Service for 293 recruits of Course 1/2026 at the School’s Auditorium on Sunday, 6 September 2026.

Held under the theme, “Called to Serve, Prepared for Duty in Reliance on God,” the service formed part of activities marking the successful completion of the recruits’ six-month basic military training. It provided an opportunity for the recruits, instructors, families and well-wishers to give thanks to God for His guidance and protection throughout the training period.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, the Commodore Superintendent, Naval Shipyard Complex, Commodore Roger Bagoniah, reminded the recruits that military service was more than a means of earning a living, describing it as a calling to serve the nation.
He noted that the recruits had been prepared physically, mentally and spiritually for the responsibilities ahead and urged them to wear the military uniform with pride and a strong sense of responsibility. He further encouraged them to uphold integrity, loyalty, courage and self-discipline, stressing that the reputation of the Ghana Armed Forces depended on the conduct and professionalism of its personnel.

Commodore Bagoniah also commended the instructors and staff of AFRTS for their dedication in transforming the recruits into disciplined and responsible military personnel.

In his welcome address, the Commanding Officer of AFRTS, Wing Commander Benoni Nii Ayi Okine, congratulated the recruits on successfully completing the rigorous training programme. He expressed appreciation to the instructors, administrative staff and families for their support and urged the recruits to apply the knowledge, discipline and values acquired at the school as they begin their military careers.

The service was attended by senior officers, personnel from sister security services, instructors, families and well-wishers.
