The 2 Garrison Public Relations Detachment has sensitised Air Force Recruits Course 1/2026 on the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Social Media Policy and the responsible use of social media.

The sensitisation, held on Monday, 7 September 2026, at the Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) Auditorium, focused on responsible online conduct and the potential risks associated with the use of social media, particularly within the military environment.

Addressing the recruits, the 2 Garrison Public Relations Officer, Mr Enoch Tetteh Nanor Opata, underscored the need for military personnel to exercise discretion when posting, sharing or commenting on content across social media platforms.

He cautioned the recruits against publishing sensitive information, photographs, videos or other materials that could compromise operational security, military activities, personnel or installations, as well as the reputation and image of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Mr Opata further emphasised that the online activities of personnel could have implications not only for individuals but also for the Ghana Armed Forces as an institution. He therefore encouraged the recruits to ensure that their conduct in the digital space reflected the values, discipline and professional standards expected of military personnel.

The recruits were also advised to verify information before sharing it, refrain from engaging in online activities that could bring the Ghana Armed Forces into disrepute, and demonstrate respect and responsibility in their interactions on digital platforms.

Concluding the lecture, Mr Opata reminded the recruits that professionalism extended beyond the physical workplace to their conduct in the digital space, whether on or off duty. He encouraged them to use social media responsibly and positively while remaining mindful of military regulations, operational security and the image of the Ghana Armed Forces.
